How to Stain Your Cabinet Glass

Submitted by admin on Sunday, 15 February 2009No Comment

pho_cabinet_3Staining cabinet glass is easy to accomplish. The best way to do this task is to purchase stain glass adhesive sheets from a home improvement store. These sheets have a sticky back that when exposed adheres to the glass and creates the stained glass look that you are going for. There are many stained glass designs to choose from and they are easy to work with – easier than actually applying wood stain to the cabinet frame.

Apply the Adhesive Back Stain

Clean and dry the glass completely, removing all of the dust and debris that may prevent the stained glass adhesive to not adhere properly. Cut the sheet to fit the glass, allowing some room on the sides in order to ensure a proper fit. Dry fit the stained glass adhesive sheet to the cabinet glass and size it up before removing the adhesive backing. Press the sheet into place and, using a razor knife, carefully trim the excess on the sides of the glass.

Clean Glass and Remove Any Air Pockets

Clean the stain glass sheet and press again to remove any possible air pockets that appeared. This will help complete your cabinet glass staining process and provide you with the new look.
